DUACT Scholarship Fund for evening primary school
DUACT Scholarship Fund has supported Tinh Thuong School at Binh Trieu (Binh Trieu School of Compassion), initiated by Rev. Nguyen Van Lap to help local poor children to have an opportunity to learn to read-and-write in evening classes, after finishing their daily chore of peddling, shoe shining, or selling of lottery to provide needed additional income for their poor parents.
According to the records, from 2003 to 2009 there were 1,203 students who enrolled in various classes at this institution, as follows:
- School year 2003 - 2004 : 202 students
- School year 2004 - 2005 : 167 students
- School year 2005 - 2006 : 192 students
- School year 2006 - 2007 : 170 students
- School year 2007 - 2008 : 170 students
- School year 2008 - 2009 : 160 students
- School year 2009 - 2010 : 142 students
Every year, some 30 students who successfully graduated level 4 from this institution were able to enroll and be absorbed into local official public school system. After 2010 the school closed its door indefinitely; however, the fund continues to serve similar students in different areas of educational needs.
